About

Alberto grew up in Madrid. He began learning design and programming in secondary school and continued independently; by sixteen, he was building websites and applications and entering competitions involving medical data and software development. He later studied medicine at the University of Cantabria, where his clinical training included rotations in neuroimaging, neurovascular intervention, nuclear medicine, and anatomic pathology.

He joined the Faculty of Medicine boards responsible for Physiology, Surgery, and Physics, helping oversee their academic and research programmes, and later served on the University of Cantabria’s Governing Council. In 2016 he left medicine to found ThemTech, leading its business and technical work in multimodal medical imaging and computational pathology until 2020, in collaboration with Nextel Aerospace Defense Simulation, the university, and Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla.

In 2020 he co-founded FM Lab, which began as a Medialab Prado project and developed into a startup building wearable hardware, on-device AI, and voice interfaces. Alongside it, he advised on applied AI across medical technology, social media, simulation, and manufacturing, including quoting and design automation for additive manufacturing.

He co-founded Rkive AI in 2024 and now runs it as CEO and CTO, building agent systems, persistent memory and retrieval, and native media engines across web, iOS, Android, and macOS.

Beyond his technical career, his creative work spans writing, modelling, photography, performance, and creative direction. He worked as a model with River Agency and co-founded Cathartsis, an art collective centred on photography and performance. He now writes essays and books and works across editorial and film as a creative director, producer, and model.
