About

Alberto Luengo Martin is the founder, CEO and CTO of Rkive AI, where he leads product, engineering, and research on memory, reasoning, and forms of model behavior that don’t fit the chat-assistant frame. He earlier founded a medical-imaging company, working on multimodal fusion and computational pathology when both were still uncommon.
Background
Alberto grew up in Madrid, self-taught in design, programming, and writing alongside formal schooling. He read Medicine at the University of Cantabria and dropped out in 2014 to found ThemTech, a medical-technology company building AI for diagnostic imaging — multimodal data fusion, self-supervised learning, and computational pathology, approaches that were still uncommon at the time.
He led both the business and technical sides of ThemTech until the company wound down, working alongside Nextel Aerospace Defense Simulation, the University of Cantabria, and the Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla.
In the years since, he co-founded FM Lab — a Medialab Prado project that grew into a company — building wearable hardware, on-device AI, and voice interfaces; and advised companies on applied AI, from recommendation and generative interfaces in social media to quoting and design automation in manufacturing. He now leads Rkive AI as its founder, CEO and CTO.
